Soul Care: Counselling Psychotherapy
– A Depth-Oriented, Psychodynamic, Relationship Focused, Christian Integrated and Trauma-Informed Approach
"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate." (C.G. Jung)
Soul-care counselling psychotherapy is a holistic and depth-oriented therapeutic approach that honours the full complexity of the human person—physical, emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual. Grounded in both psychodynamic and Jungian analytic principles, and integrated with a Christian worldview, this form of therapy recognises that we are uniquely created by God with inherent value, meaning, purpose, and spiritual identity. Each person carries a distinct story shaped by conscious thoughts and desires, as well as deeper, often unconscious influences that arise from past experiences, internal conflicts, attachment patterns, and unprocessed emotions.
This approach acknowledges that people are also shaped by broader forces such as: trauma; family-of-origin dynamics, intergenerational patterns, cultural events and history; and from a Christian perspective: spiritual forces and powers that affect our lives, relationships and realities. Therapy provides a safe and compassionate space to bring these influences to light, allowing clients to understand how both seen and unseen factors may be affecting their wellbeing, relationships, and choices.
Trauma-informed practice is central to this model. Clients are supported in understanding how trauma impacts the body and nervous system, how boundaries and identity may have been disrupted, and how to re-establish safety, stability, and integration. Relational dynamics—such as individuation, emotional maturity, healthy attachment, cooperation, and conflict resolution—are explored to foster healthier patterns and meaningful connections. The therapy also provides clarity around complex relational systems, including narcissistic or abusive dynamics, enabling clients to identify harmful patterns and develop self-protective wisdom.
The benefit of this work is deep and multidimensional. Clients gain insight into their inner world, experience emotional and relational healing, strengthen their sense of self, and reconnect with their God-given identity and purpose. Soul-care psychotherapy nurtures resilience, restores hope, and supports a journey toward greater wholeness, freedom, and spiritual renewal.
